A $5 million international standard sports stadium has been planned by the Nasinu Town Council to host local and international tournaments.
Council chief executive officer Akthar Ali said the stadium would be built at the Valelevu ground to cater for the growing Nasinu population.
He said the upgrading of the ground would cost between $200,000 to $500,000 while the stadium would cost between $3million to $5m to build.
“There is no proper sporting ground for the people of Nasinu. People usually go to Suva for sporting events.”
Mr Ali said the facilities would be of international standard.
“The stadium will accommodate sporting events and host big games,” Mr Ali said.
Works on the ground started a few months ago, with assistance from Government.
