Mobile telephone company surprises students with special lunch treat

students of the School for the Blind in Vatuwaqa, Suva received a pleasant surprise when they were treated to a Diwali lunch by staff members of mobile telephone company Digicel Fiji at the school yesterday. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement as the students, dressed in their favourite Diwali attire, joined the rest of the world in celebrating the auspicious occasion.
Digicel Fiji head of marketing Sheryl Singh said the get-together was a symbolic one especially for the staff members and students of the school.
Ms Singh said the main objective of the celebration was to show and demonstrate to the students the importance of unity.
“We feel that it’s very important that we perform our corporate social responsibility and that is something we’re very proud of,” Ms Singh said. About 40 students and 10 teachers enjoyed the lunch yesterday.
