A service station cashier is still in shock following a robbery he experienced on Sunday night.
Ravinesh Krishna, 30, said at around 7.30pm four masked men allegedly armed with sticks and stones had stormed and robbed the Pacific Energy Service Station near Lauwaki Village in Lautoka.
“I was inside with another cashier when the incident happened. They had covered their mouth. Shouting and banging the burglar bars,” he said.
“I ran to the toilet and locked myself inside. It was a dreadful experience I have come through. First thing came into my mind was to save myself and I thought of my family. It was like a movie scene. I was so scared.”
A staff member at the service station suffered injuries. He was treated at the Lautoka Hospital and sent home.
“Last night I did not sleep well after what I had encountered,” Mr Krishna said. Police Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confi rmed the incidence. He said the alleged robbers fled with cash.
“At the momens things are still sketchy, however our team on the ground have some encountered some leads and are working towards it,” he said.
“We are urging the public to report to the nearest Police station any information relating to the alleged robbery.”
