A businessman, Nilson Narayan who is charged with conspiracy to defraud and dishonestly causing a loss to the Ministry of Health appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
Narayan’s lawyer Jitendra Reddy told the court that there are 42 witnesses for this case and as it is a complicated matter they need two months’ time to go over the disclosures.
The former acting executive officer of the Ministry of Health is also charged with one count of conspiracy to defraud and dishonestly causing a loss to the Ministry of Health.
Semisi Havea is also charged with three counts of general dishonesty causing a loss to the Ministry of Health in 2012 amounting to $15,773.
The court was told that Havea allegedly made payments to Pillay Auto Repairs and Aashees Motor Repairs between 1st November to 31st December, 2012.
The matter has been adjourned to the 5th of January next year.
